The most common resolution made at the start of every new year is to “get in shape” and “lose the weight finally“.
After a few weeks in the gym and eating some what clean most start to wane and eventually give up. I understand completely that it’s hard work to juggle family, a career, a household and forget trying to eat clean ALL the time when there are after school activities that run into dinner time and then there’s still homework and bedtime to get through.
Oh and did you want some “you time” to relax after you make lunches and snacks at 9 or even 10 pm?
Ok well I’m going to get right to the point and give you the SECRET to success for tightening your body and losing the unwanted weight that keeps sticking around.
You HAVE to pre-prepare your meals.
It’s that simple!
Oh and get moving EVERY day.
If you can do those two things for the rest of your life you will reach your goals and stay there.
I PROMISE that this is fool proof.
I have two kids, a husband, a house, laundry, after school activities, a job and I’m in graduate school and I work out every day. I make my meals the previous day for the next day. I have my cooler, protein powder, water and meals ready and when I need to eat it’s all prepared.
I never feel hungry because I eat about every 3 hours. This is important because you want to keep your blood sugar levels consistent. When your insulin levels are low you get that “starving feeling” which is when we tend to over eat if we don’t have a sensible meal ready for consumption.
I make my breakfast for the next day the night before and I warm it up while the kids are eating their breakfast. After they leave for the bus I’m ready to hit the gym. I feel energetic and ready to burn up some unwanted fat and calories!
Its not all rigorous planning and execution though! It is actually important to allow yourself a cheat meal during the week.
I don’t want you to feel deprived and as if you can’t enjoy foods like dessert or wine etc. So, pick a night during the week when you can indulge a bit – have your favorite meal with a glass of wine and dessert.
The next meal you get right back on the clean eating plan.
As with anything this will take some getting used too but if you can pre-prepare your meals and get moving you will be extremely happy with how your body transforms.
It happens rather quickly too.
After about a week or so you should start to feel more energetic and tighter. I have many great recipes and tricks to help you achieve your goal this 2012 and I’ll be sharing them with you as we go.
