I was talking to a member of our BootCamp (who’s doing awesome, leaning out and getting his six pack ready for summer) and he said that he’s doing great and making progress, but he knew that he could make progress a lot faster if he just changed one thing. You see his diet is pretty good on the whole, but he has one vice: he always has a couple beers on the train ride home.
This was good and bad, bad because he’s putting down extra calories and depressing testosterone levels with continual alcohol intake, but it was good because he easily identified the ONE thing that he could change and bump things up to the next level.
Take a moment and think of ONE thing that you can change, today, that will have an immediate impact on your fitness and fat loss goals.
Saying “eat better” is not good enough. Its too vague. You can’t take action on it.
Saying “eat a better lunch” is still not good enough. You need a very specific thing you can change.
Here’s specific: “I never have a healthy lunch prepared so I eat whatever is around the house or convenient on the road. So I will prepare a big mixed salad with a good variety of vegetables and some grilled chicken on Sunday and again on Wednesday and then have it throughout the week so I always have a healthy lunch ready for me. If I know I will be out I will store it in a tupperware container that morning and have it ready.”
Now that is an actionable plan with specific stipulations that will yield immediate results.
